When Bon was 16, he auditioned for a DJ-ing slot at a local radio station
and soon had shows on three different frequencies. His first experience of
DJ-ing before a live audience however, was 5 years later, as a student in
Prague. Having started club-DJ-ing in the Czech Republic, it's no surprise
that his favorite big-name DJs are Europeans! He likes Hungarian Corvin
Dalek’s style, and recommends that people keep an eye on Czech Michael
Burian, choosing him as his favorite up-and-coming DJ.
During his holidays back home in Cyprus, he continues building a reputation for himself with sets at radio stations, bars, clubs and various parties. In the summer of 2002, he was invited to play at a private boat-party and he mentions this July mini-cruise as one of the best events he has ever spinned at, because everybody was passionate about the music. Each year, during the few months he is on the island, he sees that the new generation is becoming much more interested in dance culture, and that Cyprus’ nightlife is gradually changing. “Its simply a matter of time before Cyprus reaches the club-standard of other countries. I think dance shows on the radio, both by foreign and Cypriot DJs, are very important, because as more people are exposed to electronic music, the scene gets better and better!” With Mediterranean and European clubbing under his belt, his next target is America! Once he finishes his studies in Prague, he would like to travel to the United States to explore American club-life and hopefully even play there for a new experience! |
